Using the Total Value Locked (TVL) metric, the blockchain aggregator showed that Lido had an inflow of $1.58 billion in the last seven days.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Top 10 DeFi protocols with the highest USD increase in TVL over the past week <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KonQ0LkcSl\">pic.twitter.com\/KonQ0LkcSl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; DefiLlama.com (@DefiLlama) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DefiLlama\/status\/1728511936457826759?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 25, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other projects, including <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MakerDAO [MKR]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aave [AAVE]<\/span>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were nowhere near Lido\u2019s numbers. The surge in Lido\u2019s TVL meant that the protocol was able to attract much more capital than the others.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>It\u2019s liquid staking over lending<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, the increase means that market participants involved in committing liquidity trusted Lido enough to give better yields than the others. One reason for the hike was the increase in demand for liquid staking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liquid staking allows market players to participate in staking while allowing the flexibility to buy and sell the token. For Lido, its dominance in this space could be connected to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum\u2019s [ETH]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> decision to switch to Proof-of-Stake (PoS).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ever since, the demand for Lido stETH has been on the rise. stETH is the cryptocurrency representing an Ethereum token deposited to support blockchain operations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Lido is not the only project offering liquid <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/lido-agrees-to-approve-staking-router-model-heres-what-that-means\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">staking<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> services. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rocket Pool [RPL]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which was also in the top 10 DeFi TVLs for the week, does the same. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Rocket Pool has not been able to gain the same adoption as Lido. At press time, Lido\u2019s overall TVL was $22.88 billion. So, while the projects topped the standings, others had their own share of deposits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Aave and Maker, whose fundamentals are built on lending, it could be difficult to outpace Lido\u2019s run. This is because there have been many predictions that liquid staking now takes the pole position in the future of DeFi, mainly because of the numerous use cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some use cases of liquid staking protocols include yield farming, stablecoins minting, and node running. In Lido\u2019s case, it has also been going far and wide to integrate with other projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How much are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,10,100 LDOs worth today<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In recent times, Lido has integrated with the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terra Classic [LUNC]<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blockchain. Moves like these can help the project in stamping its place as the DeFi king.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If Lido continues to work toward other partnerships, then the likes of Maker and Aave might have no other options than to concede to the project.
