As of 2 October, NYSE Arca submitted the application to list the proposed ETF. This move follows the SEC&#8217;s approval of Bitcoin [BTC] futures ETFs in 2021 and more recently Ethereum futures ETFs.<\/p>\n<p>However, the SEC has not yet approved any spot crypto ETFs holding digital assets directly.<\/p>\n<h4>Significant development for Grayscale and ETH EFTs<\/h4>\n<p>This application marks a significant development for Grayscale Investments, which aims to convert its ETHE trust into an SEC-registered ETF. Such a conversion would allow investors to gain exposure to Ether without the need to directly hold crypto assets.<\/p>\n<p>This also includes mainstream institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum&#8217;s ETF structure is appealing because it offers greater ease of trading for both retail and institutional investors.
