The decline was mostly due to Lido&#8217;s decision to <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/as-lido-bids-goodbye-to-solana-sol-rallies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sunset<\/a> its activities on Solana [SOL].<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Is your portfolio green? Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/lido-dao-profit-calculator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">LDO Profit Calculator<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following a community vote on the same, Lido announced its decision to cease operations on Solana on 16 October, as its continued existence on the Layer 1 (L1) blockchain has become a financially unviable venture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, in its latest weekly update on X (formerly Twitter), the protocol noted that the TVL decline was also a result of \u201ctoken prices falling.\u201d Between 9 and 16 October, the values of ETH, Polygon [MATIC], and SOL dropped by 4%, 8%, and 6%, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Rough seven-day period for Lido<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite having previously led in net new deposits to the Ethereum Beacon Chain for several weeks, Ether deposits made to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network through Lido plummeted significantly within the period under review.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With 48,480 ETH in net new stake made to Ethereum through Lido between 9 and 16 October, the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol ranked behind Coinbase and Binance, which recorded net new deposits of 56,000 ETH and 52,000 ETH, respectively, according to data from <a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/LidoAnalytical\/Lido-Finance-Extended\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dune Analytics<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_351659\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-351659\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F8oElfHWIAAN2v-.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-351659\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F8oElfHWIAAN2v-.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F8oElfHWIAAN2v-.png 1200w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F8oElfHWIAAN2v--300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F8oElfHWIAAN2v--1024x512.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/F8oElfHWIAAN2v--768x384.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-351659\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Dune Analytics<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further, the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of the protocol\u2019s staked Ether [stETH] assessed on a seven-day moving average witnessed a decline. However, the token\u2019s price peaked at $1.64 on 16 October, after the decision regarding Lido on Solana was announced. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The token\u2019s price has since trended downward.
