But what most people don\u2019t know is that both projects have been able to retain a good number of users who are consistent with interactions on their respective mainnet.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How much are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,10,100 ARBs worth today<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Token Terminal, Optimism has been able to retain 30% of its mainnet users in the last 30 days. For Arbitrum, the blockchain data platform also noted that its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tokenterminal\/status\/1701703434012065807\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">retention rate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was something other projects may need to look into.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On average, @optimismFND Mainnet retains ~30% of its users after one month <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JH6EAdDQxQ\">pic.twitter.com\/JH6EAdDQxQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Token Terminal \ud83d\udcca (@tokenterminal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tokenterminal\/status\/1701681228556980693?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 12, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h4><b>OP, ARB never fail to show up<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Usually, when a project has a great user-retention rate, it means that participants on the blockchain are quite content with the use cases offered by the project. What is more surprising is that both Optimism and Arbitrum airdropped tokens for their early adopters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In most cases, airdrops or <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/optimism-offers-incentives-to-coax-users-back-to-the-protocol-did-it-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">incentives<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are not necessary guarantees for keeping user activity on the high. So, this meant that both Arbtirum and Optimism are doing something right to keep users coming back to their mainnet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are, however, a number of reasons for this development. In Optimism\u2019s case, it continuously collaborates with other projects and seems to have ensured it\u2019s top of market participants&#8217; minds. This seemed to help it <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/optimism-flips-arbitrum-in-market-cap-whats-next\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">overtake<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Arbitrum\u2019s market cap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even more recently, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bnbchain.org\/en\/blog\/opbnb-mainnet-is-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">opBNB Mainnet went live<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> just a few hours before this writing. The opBNB is a partnership between Optimism and the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/assessing-the-impact-of-opbnb-launch-on-bnb-chain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BNB Chain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Its function is to act as an<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible Layer 2 chain based on Optimism OP Stack, which promises to revolutionize the blockchain industry by offering cheaper gas fees and access to blockchain technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prior to the launch, about 35 million on-chain transactions were processed. This involved 435,972 unique wallets, meaning network activity on Optimism was at its peak. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Both TVLs shrink<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arbiturm has also been doing its part to keep its community. For example, it recently introduced the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/can-arbitrums-stylus-testnet-change-the-l2-game-in-arbs-favor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stylus Testnet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which allows developers to build and users to access cheaper gas fees. When the TVL increases, it means liquidity on the protocol has increased. But when it decreases, it implies a lack of money flow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>From the chart above, <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/Arbitrum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arbitrum\u2019s TVL<\/a> was $1.66 billion, a 16.07% decrease over the last month. But in the last 24 hours, the TVL had increased by 2.72%, meaning that it was getting back its traction. Optimism showed a <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/Optimism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">similar<\/a> trend.
