{"id":341591,"date":"2023-09-07T21:00:59","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T15:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=341591"},"modified":"2024-01-30T02:05:29","modified_gmt":"2024-01-29T20:35:29","slug":"what-ripples-latest-updates-to-the-xprl-mainnet-entails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/what-ripples-latest-updates-to-the-xprl-mainnet-entails\/","title":{"rendered":"What Ripple&#8217;s latest updates to the XPRL mainnet entails"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>The project planned to integrate an automated trading pool and opt-in for newly issued assets.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>XRPL&#8217;s DEX volume was very low while trustlines issued increased.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RippleX, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ripple\u2019s [XRP]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> extension of its open-developer money platform has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/XRPLF\/rippled\/pull\/4690\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> two new merged proposals to be implemented on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). According to the development team, the new updates include the XLS-39 Clawback spec and XLS-30 AMM spec.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How much are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,10,100 XRPs worth today<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Ripple\u2019s GitHub profile, the proposal was put out by Manojsdoshi. The community member had opined that the implemented version of the updates would result in a Ripple version 1.12.0. While the proposal would need the approval of the validator community, RippleX did well to explain the roles of both specifications.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>XRPL needs the AMM<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To start with, RippleX said that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/opensource.ripple.com\/docs\/xls-30d-amm\/amm-uc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XLS-30<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> would bring a native Automated Market Maker (AMM) to the XPRL. The development group also noted that the integration would enable automated liquidity pool trading. Also, it could expand Ripple\u2019s share of the DEX market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, on-chain data showed that the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XRPL<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> may be in dire need of the XLS-30 due to the state of the DEX volume. The DEX volume on the XRPL includes all trades where at least one of the assets in the pair has recently traded against XRP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/app.santiment.net\/charts\/aEAO11eN__sCl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Santiment\u2019s data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the DEX volume was in a sorry state. At press time, the transaction count on the XRPL was 36,700. This meant that aggregate transactions on the network have not been impressive.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Claws on the trustlines<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the second feature, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/opensource.ripple.com\/docs\/clawback\/clawback-of-issued-currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XLS-39 Clawback<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, RippleX explained that it would provide an opt-in capability for newly i<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ssued assets<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> via a trustline if approved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Santiment, the daily net amount of trustlines created has been increasing. This means that activity on the XRPL through time has increased. However, the daily new XRPL assets issued had reduced.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This metric tracks only the new assets issued per day. While <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RippleXDev\/status\/1699559403978907764\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">encouraging<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> all members of the community to review the proposals, it mentioned two conditions for the proposal to be passed.
