And it\u2019s not just that. The Ethereum Mainnet may have also stepped back for Base to take the crown of increased activity and traction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Realistic or not, here\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OP\u2019s market cap in ETH terms<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How has this come to be?<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Friends help Base trump the king<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not to beat around the bush, Base\u2019s Transactions Per Second (TPS) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/l2beat.com\/scaling\/projects\/base?selectedChart=activity\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">surpassed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that of Ethereum on 22 August, according to L2 Beat. Ethereum, on the other hand, decreased by 1.47% within the same timeframe. However, there was one particular reason that Base was able to achieve the milestone and its name\u2014 friend.tech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">friend.tech is a mobile application built on Coinbase L2. While it prides itself as the \u201cmarketplace for your friends,\u201d friend.tech provides an avenue for users to tokenize their identity. And, in turn, can sell shares of themselves to their followers or anyone interested in their community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite being launched only recently, friend.tech has experienced rapid growth and adoption. According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/domo\/friendtech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dune Analytics<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the application has amassed 97,316 unique traders. Previously, AMBCrypto had <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/how-newcomer-base-has-rattled-ethereum-layer-2-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> how Base\u2019s emergence had disrupted the L2 flow.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Daily Transactions on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/buildonbase?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BuildOnBase<\/a> have surpassed <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/arbitrum?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@arbitrum<\/a> and @optimismFND combined. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fSrqMyeeVD\">pic.twitter.com\/fSrqMyeeVD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Delphi Digital (@Delphi_Digital) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Delphi_Digital\/status\/1694034519978819732?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 22, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The daily transactions reflect the usage rate of the network on a day-to-day basis. Therefore, the hike in transactions <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/tk-research\/base\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">suggested<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> optimism around Base. If it stays the same or increases further, the project might completely overtake its predecessors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the integration of projects like <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compound [COMP]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aave [AAVE]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also ensured that the \u201con-chain summer\u201d leader attracted more users. Now, the shift has extended to transactions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>L2 standings have changed<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Delphi Digital, daily transactions on Base have outstripped those of Optimism and Arbitrum combined.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How much are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,10,100 ETHs worth today<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the time of writing, over $253 million had been bridged on Base. Based on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/tk-research\/base\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dune\u2019s data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ETH led the cohort of assets that have appeared on the network. This was followed by stablecoins Tether [USDT] and DAI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, Base\u2019s Total Value Locked (TVL) has risen to $185.32 million, DefiLlama <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/Base\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">revealed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
