Names like The Sandbox [SAND], Axie Infinity [AXS], Decentraland [MANA], and Gala stole the limelight and reached their peak of fame around 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During this frenzy, the trade volume of their tokens soared, reflecting immense interest. However, recent data by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KaikoData\/status\/1686324895851122688?t=d08VIMSGq5Z2PF62J3b-9g&amp;s=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaiko<\/a> revealed that the trade volume of these once-soaring tokens has taken a sharp dip.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_332262\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-332262\" style=\"width: 1199px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/P2E-volume.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-332262 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/P2E-volume.jpeg\" alt=\"P2E tokens trade volume\" width=\"1199\" height=\"642\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/P2E-volume.jpeg 1199w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/P2E-volume-300x161.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/P2E-volume-1024x548.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/P2E-volume-768x411.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1199px) 100vw, 1199px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-332262\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Kaiko<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As reported, June&#8217;s numbers depicted a modest total of around $3 billion, in stark contrast to the exuberant figures seen during the peak of the craze. A plausible explanation for this surprising turn of events may be a decrease in active players engaging with these gaming platforms. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the vibrant frenzy has cooled off, the player base could be one of the key factors influencing this drastic shift.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Analyzing the P2E platforms&#8217; active users<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on data from <a href=\"https:\/\/activeplayer.io\/axie-infinity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Active Players<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/a-look-at-axie-infinitys-ailing-sidechain-is-there-some-good-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axie Infinity<\/a> enjoyed a remarkable surge in active players on its platform between January 2021 and May 2022. The player count soared from approximately 850,000 in January 2021 to an impressive peak of over 2.5 million by May 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, since then, a decline has occurred, and as of the latest data available, the number of active players has dwindled to around 359,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/decentraland-mana-short-term-traders-can-look-to-buy-at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Decentraland&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/dcl-metrics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DCL<\/a> metrics exhibited a decline in active users over 90 days. As of the most recent data, the number of active users dropped from over 28,000 recorded in April to 20,626. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for Gala Games and The Sandbox, tracking active user data proved more challenging.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Volume and price trends<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, play-to-earn (P2E) tokens were facing a downturn on a daily timeframe. <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/the-sandbox-sand-whales-move-away-are-these-changes-the-reason\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Sandbox<\/a>\u00a0was trading at approximately $0.4, marking a more than 1% decline.
