According to the global news platform, it confirmed the development from sources familiar with the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For context, Worldcoin is a decentralized open-source protocol built to solve two problems\u2014 income inequality and online identity authentication.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also identifies as a protocol to support humanity in the ever-evolving Artificial Intelligence (AI) world. With a native utility token tagged as WLD, Worldcoin had mentioned that a device called \u201cThe Orb\u201d would ensure that users have only one Worldcoin ID.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Curbing through the &#8220;Orb&#8221;<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Altman, who is also the brain behind ChatGPT had mentioned that the project could also contribute to eliminating fraud. He also mentioned that the protocol, through \u201cThe Orb\u201d, could help differentiate between real people and the machine language models.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although this could mark a significant milestone in Worldcoin\u2019s development journey, the project\u2019s progress has not been without controversy. In May, the project raised $115 million from venture capitalists including <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uniswap [UNI]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-backed a16z and Blockchain capital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, in its tokenomics design, Worldcoin has preallocated a share of the coin\u2019s supply to specific users. Through Orb, users would receive their allocation of WLD, the company pointed out in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While this decision did not sit well with the project&#8217;s followers, co-founder Alex Blania <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/tatianakoffman\/2021\/10\/21\/worldcoin-wants-to-give-cryptocurrency-to-every-human-on-earth\/amp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clarified<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the discourse. Blania had said,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The more participants a network like this has, the more powerful it becomes for its uers. Giving billions of people access to one commonly owned network will lead to a major acceleration of the crypto space.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a joint statement shared by the Worldcoin official page, co-founders Altman and Blania said users can now access the WorldApp, powered by <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/worldcoin-switches-sides-in-l2-war-picks-optimism-over-polygon\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Optimism [OP]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to access their wallet.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The Worldcoin project is now live. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xZXG4w56Ps\">pic.twitter.com\/xZXG4w56Ps<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Worldcoin (@worldcoin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/worldcoin\/status\/1683372181428793344?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 24, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h4>Exchanges are set for WLD<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interestingly, several cryptocurrency exchanges have started preparing to facilitate WLD deposits, signaling the token&#8217;s imminent availability for trading.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Arkham Intelligence <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/platform.arkhamintelligence.com\/explorer\/token\/ethereum\/0x163f8C2467924be0ae7B5347228CABF260318753\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a certain \u201cVestingWallet\u201d had about 52.5% of the total Worldcoin supply. Exchanges including Bybit and OKX had also gotten a share of the overall WLD issued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, OKX had an exchange inflow of 4 million WLD while Bybit had gotten an inflow of 3 million WLD.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, the world\u2019s largest exchange Binance also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/support\/announcement\/binance-will-list-worldcoin-wld-9bc08522433c44b1b0b9978d65c4f5e5\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that WLD would be available for trading starting 24 July.
