The bullish rally, catalyzed by TradFi giant BlackRock&#8217;s application for a spot Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF), resulted in a 13.27% jump in the king coin&#8217;s value week-on-week, as per <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CoinMarketCap<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Is your portfolio green? Check out the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/bitcoin-profit-calculator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Bitcoin Profit Calculator<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Futures market powering the rally?<\/h4>\n<p>According to crypto market data provider <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KaikoData\/status\/1673326451859369985?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaiko<\/a>, the rally was getting impetus from derivatives markets. The Open Interest (OI), or the dollar value locked in BTC futures contracts, hit its yearly peak recently while OI denominated in BTC touched its highest level since January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>An increase in price complimented by an increase in OI indicated a higher capital inflow into the BTC market and increased speculative interest.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, as prices rose, many short-position traders, who were anticipating price drops, covered their positions to limit their losses. Kaiko noted that the ratio of Binance to Coinbase spot BTC volume has dipped sharply since the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit on the two crypto behemoths.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, BTC volumes on Coinbase were growing faster than that of Binance.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">How much are\u00a01,10,100 BTCs worth today?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>As Coinbase is primarily used in the American market, it could be inferred that spot trading activity was driven by the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Big institutional players&#8217; interest has fueled expectations of a BTC bull run, as market sentiment has shifted significantly from &#8216;neutral&#8217; to &#8216;greed&#8217;.
