{"id":320697,"date":"2023-06-16T06:00:55","date_gmt":"2023-06-16T00:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=320697"},"modified":"2024-04-03T10:44:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T05:14:55","slug":"analyzing-the-state-of-arbitrum-since-its-mega-airdrop-event-in-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/analyzing-the-state-of-arbitrum-since-its-mega-airdrop-event-in-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Analyzing the state of Arbitrum since its mega AirDrop event in March"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>On-chain activity like user activity and transactions surged higher for Arbitrum.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>At the time of writing, ARB was down 7.82% over the past 24 hours.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Popular layer-2 (L2) rollup Arbitrum [ARB] has been on a roll since the <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/arbitrum-announces-launch-of-arb-token-but-heres-the-caveat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launch<\/a> of its native token in March. It recorded an uptick in most of its key performance indicators (KPIs), according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nansen.ai\/research\/a-look-into-arbitrum-after-the-airdrop?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=report_arbitrum_14_6_23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report <\/a>by on-chain analytics firm Nansen.<\/p>\n<p>Nansen noted that unlike many of its predecessors who failed to sustain traction following their AirDrop, the largest\u00a0Ethereum [ETH] scaling solution managed to buck the trend.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Realistic or not,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">here\u2019s ARB\u2019s market cap in BTC terms<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Onwards and upwards for Arbitrum<\/h3>\n<p>As can be seen below, the number of users surged to a record level of more than 600,000. This was on the day of the AirDrop. However, the momentum carried forward since then. Furthermore, user activity comfortably surpassed the second-biggest ETH rollup, Optimism [OP], and was at par with Ethereum itself.<\/p>\n<p>The transactional activity followed a similar trajectory with the count remaining higher than that of ETH for a good part of April.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-320709\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb-1024x493.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb-1024x493.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb-768x370.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb-1536x740.png 1536w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Arb.png 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another factor that needed to be considered was network growth. The rate at which new users were entering the system consistently increased since the day of the AirDrop saw an all-time high (ATH) in new wallet creation. This was when compared to other L1 and L2 solutions. However, after peaking during the Airdrop claim period, it lost some of its dominance to sidechain Polygon [MATIC].<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Is your portfolio green? Along with Optimism, which also went for AirDrop previously, the activity of wallets that retained their tokens was analyzed.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction share of this cohort declined from 5-20% before the AirDrop to just 5% after the tokens became claimable.
