{"id":319169,"date":"2023-06-09T00:00:23","date_gmt":"2023-06-08T18:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=319169"},"modified":"2023-06-08T18:06:52","modified_gmt":"2023-06-08T12:36:52","slug":"cardano-vehemently-denies-secs-security-claim-as-ada-continues-to-bleed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/cardano-vehemently-denies-secs-security-claim-as-ada-continues-to-bleed\/","title":{"rendered":"Cardano denies SEC&#8217;s &#8216;security&#8217; claim as ADA bleeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><i>Since the SEC&#8217;s accusation, the value of ADA dropped nearly 14%.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><em>The cohort of users holding between 1,000 &#8211; 1 million ADA tokens shrunk considerably over the week.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The recent blow by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), labeling as many as ten cryptocurrencies as securities has plunged the market into a major crisis with FUD becoming the order of the day.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Read\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/cardano-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Cardano\u2019s [ADA] Price Prediction<\/a>\u00a02023-24<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>On this list was Cardano [ADA], the seventh-largest crypto asset by market cap and one of the most popular smart contracts platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Since the SEC&#8217;s accusation, the value of ADA has dropped about 14% as worried investors hurried to sell out their tokens for fear of it being obsolete in the future. IOG referred to the SEC&#8217;s submission as having numerous factual errors and vehemently refuted all claims.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Under no circumstances is ADA a security under U.S. securities laws. It never has been.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>IOG went on to call the action &#8220;regulation by enforcement&#8221; and questioned the agency&#8217;s clarity in understanding blockchain technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Additionaly, IOG stated that it was prepared to engage with regulators to create a framework that protects consumers&#8217; interests while fostering innovation in the Web3 sector.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson responded to SEC&#8217;s action on crypto behemoth Binance. He called it an all-0ut attack on the existence of cryptos to create a system dominated by central bank digital currency (CBDC) and other central authorities.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">With respect to Binance, I&#39;m reading through the SEC complaint. It&#39;s over 130 pages, but seems like the next in a series of steps to implement chokepoint 2.0 in the United States. However, the situation at hand was not pretty.<\/p>\n<p>Large addresses, especially, have offloaded their tokens en masse, as per latest stats from Santiment.
