However, they remained far behind Ethereum. Meanwhile, as Ethereum ramps up <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/gauging-ethereums-eth-increasing-deflationary-pressure-amid-shapella-preparation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">preparations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to enable staked Ether [stETH] withdrawal, traders seem to get involved in taking ETH positions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Not a question of \u201cOptions\u201d<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Glassnode, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studio.glassnode.com\/metrics?a=ETH&amp;category=&amp;m=derivatives.OptionsOpenInterestSum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">options Open Interest (OI)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across all exchanges had been increasing since 24 March.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The options OI reveals the total amount of funds dedicated to opening options contracts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And, at press time, the metric was $7.56 billion. Similarly, the sentiment does not expect a notable correction in the short term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, institutions who trade <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/cryptocurrencies\/ether\/ether.volume.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over The Counter (OTC) contracts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seem not to share the same perceptions with the overall derivatives market. In times past like the year of the Merge, several long positions were open. But unfortunately, most liquidated as the ETH price plunged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the number of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/studio.glassnode.com\/metrics?a=ETH&amp;category=&amp;m=eth2.DepositedByProviderVolumeSum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ETH 2.0 deposit contracts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by staking providers had reached new peaks via different networks and exchanges.
