In fact, this was the second consecutive weekly all-time high recorded by the layer-2 rollup.<\/p>\n<p>With a growth of 32.41%, it surpassed BNB Chain [BNB] to become the public chain second only to Ethereum [ETH] in DEX trading volume, data from DeFiLlama revealed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_298863\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-298863\" style=\"width: 1115px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-DEX.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-298863\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-DEX.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1115\" height=\"484\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-DEX.jpg 1115w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-DEX-300x130.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-DEX-1024x444.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-DEX-768x333.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1115px) 100vw, 1115px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-298863\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DeFiLlama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Uniswap [UNI] accounted for over 50% of the total volume on the chain. Additional data from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/exchanges\/decentralized\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coingecko<\/a> showed that the most traded pair on Uniswap (Arbitrum) was USDC\/WETH, indicating that stablecoins were still transacted heavily on exchanges.<\/p>\n<h3>Arbitrum&#8217;s TVL grows<\/h3>\n<p>Apart from the DEX trading, Arbitrum chain registered a significant increase in the total funds deposited on its smart contracts. The total value locked (TVL) jumped over 21% over the last week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chains\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highest<\/a> among popular chains.<\/p>\n<p>Arbitrum\u2019s dominant DeFi protocol was GMX, a decentralized derivatives exchange, which accounted for nearly 40% of the total TVL.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_298897\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-298897\" style=\"width: 1098px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-TVL.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-298897\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-TVL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1098\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-TVL.jpg 1098w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-TVL-300x104.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-TVL-1024x355.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Arbitrum-TVL-768x266.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1098px) 100vw, 1098px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-298897\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DeFiLlama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Additionally, the chain saw a marked increase in the number of users. Data from Token Terminal pointed towards a 44% increase in the weekly average of daily active users. The upcoming AirDrop, slated for 23 March, will distribute about 1.27 billion tokens to Arbitrum community members.<\/p>\n<p>The launch of the governance token will enable holders to vote and propose changes regarding Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova networks, marking Arbitrum\u2019s transition to a full-fledged decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the world&#8217;s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, announced that it will list ARB and spot trading pairs will begin on 23 March.
