At the time, the ecosystem was battling with several downsides but the project\u2019s offer to allow the development of DeFi applications on its chain brought a bit of cheer.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Read <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/predictions\/aptos-price-prediction\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aptos\u2019 [APT] Price Prediction<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2023-2024<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five months down the line, Aptos has <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/aptos-apt-outperforms-other-chains-on-this-front-but-heres-the-but-of-it-all\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">excelled<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in some areas. In other parts, its performance has been no more than woefully inadequate. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An unignorable part of the ecosystem is the Total Value Locked (TVL). The TVL is a metric used to represent the sum of all assets deposited into a protocol.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The struggle for deposits ends in\u2026<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of its \u201cearlier supporters\u201d expected Aptos to thrive in that regard. However, the opposite has been the case. A look at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chain\/Aptos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeFi Llama data<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> showed that the TVL of the layer one (L1) blockchain was $35.54 million despite boasting 19 lending, liquid staking, and yield protocols under its chain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_298060\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-298060\" style=\"width: 768px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-17-at-12.44.51.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-298060\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-17-at-12.44.51.png\" alt=\"Aptos Total Value Locked\" width=\"768\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-17-at-12.44.51.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-17-at-12.44.51-300x139.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-298060\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DeFi Llama<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The value represents a 37.5% decline in the last 30 days and has left Aptos lingering in the 38th position. So, the drop means that investors\u2019 interest in decentralized Applications (dApps) under Aptos has been significant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, it does not seem that the APT team was resting on its oars. This was because on-chain data <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/app.santiment.net\/charts\/p52S1AJp__sCl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">highlighted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the attempts to sustain upgrades on the network. According to Santiment, the Aptos development activity has been on the rise lately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the time of writing, the metric, which defines a project\u2019s display of its public repositories was 56.38. In addition to the development activity, the social volume has also improved. Social dominance is gauged by looking at the number of search texts for a particular asset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, this metric&#8217;s value was 157.
