{"id":294643,"date":"2023-03-03T07:00:04","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T01:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/?p=294643"},"modified":"2023-03-02T19:37:05","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T14:07:05","slug":"why-lido-finances-support-of-ethereum-upgrade-is-important","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/why-lido-finances-support-of-ethereum-upgrade-is-important\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Lido Finance&#8217;s support of Ethereum upgrade is important?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Ongoing voting showed that the Lido community would most likely support the Ethereum Shanghai Upgrade.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The protocol&#8217;s TVL growth has evidently surpassed others.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The call by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lido Finance [LDO]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on its community to approve withdrawals on its Staking Router might have yielded the much-needed fruits. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/snapshot.org\/#\/lido-snapshot.eth\/proposal\/0x629b547c688dea536a4a5c5b42274894ac068df0b0278d173b4d7a68c8c4281d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">snapshot of voting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 100% of the liquid-staking protocol community member who had taken part in the process were in support of the proposal.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How much are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,10,100 LDOs worth today<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A few days back, Lido proposed the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/lido-finance-how-these-factors-helped-ldo-climb-33-after-v2-reveal\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">V2 upgrade<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which could affect its off-chain and on-chain system. On 28 February, the voting process opened as the protocol would play a part in the fast-approaching Shanghai Upgrade on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> blockchain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Uncertainty in the midst of rewards<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Details from the snapshot showed that the voting process would last till 7 March. With the current momentum, there is a high chance that those opposed to the suggestion might have to settle with the agreement. Irrespective of the outcome Lido remains the largest staking protocol on Ethereum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Dune Analytics <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/LidoAnalytical\/Lido-Finance-Extended\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dashboard<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, investors who had taken the Lido staking APR offer had suppressed to low figures. Despite the fall, Lido still had a number as high as 129,224. The Capella hard fork also known as the Shanghai Upgrade will allow validators who staked 32 ETH to withdraw their rewards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of this writing, the upgrade had passed the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-sepolia-testnet-successful-but-vitalik-admits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sepolia Testnet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> stage. And, the Georli Testnet is the last stage before the final Mainnet part. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lido communique on the said date mentioned that it was not sure how fast the withdrawal request would be fulfilled. The protocol pointed out,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIn the best case, withdrawal requests can be processed within hours without requiring a validator exit. In a worst-case scenario, they may take significantly longer\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Realistic or not, here&#8217;s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LDO\u2019s market cap in ETH&#8217;s terms<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><b>He who prepares gets the best result<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further, it seemed that investors were already gearing up for the aftereffect of the Shanghai upgrade on LDO. At press time, the protocol maintained its lead of the DeFi Total Value Locked (TVL). The TVL takes into consideration the maximum supply, market cap, and deposit into an ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This helps to contribute to the overall health of a project. Lido\u2019s TVL at the time of writing had gained 9.37% in the last seven days. Its competition <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MakerDAO [MKR]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> did not record such growth.
