In the early hours of 27 February, Solana put the word out that the problem that surfaced was still under investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The root cause of the 2-25-23 outage is still unknown and under active investigation. The problem lingered such that initial attempts to restart transactions were unsuccessful. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While validators had to cease their strive, Solana users bore the brunt and had to wait until the next day before engineers got headway.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the cause of the downtime was still <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/solana.com\/news\/02-25-23-solana-mainnet-beta-outage-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not identified<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at press time. According to the Solana communique,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe cause of this is still unknown and under active investigation. Due to the performance degradation, validator nodes automatically entered vote-only mode, a \u2018safe mode\u2019 designed to help the network recover in the event of data unavailability.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the Solana mainnet is now functional, it is important to note that the blockchain had several outages in 2022. Now that another has happened in the new year, it suggests that Solana might need to work on securing its network against breaches and also polish where faults remain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the intermission, the Solana development activity <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/app.santiment.net\/charts\/VIdcdEzJ__sCl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shrunk<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> significantly to 22.23. This implies that the measure of discussions around Solana, and SOL was no more overhyped.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The SOL price: What next?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, the SOL price was rarely impacted by the network tumble. According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/solana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, SOL exchanged hands at $22.74, even as the volume dropped 21.62% to $398.83 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Realistic or not, here&#8217;s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/calculator\/marketcap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SOL\u2019s market cap in BTC&#8217;s terms<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Per the daily chart, the SOL momentum remained bearish. This was due to the revelations of the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD).<\/p>\n<p>At press time, the blue dynamic line was slightly below the orange line. This status indicated that buying control was not better than selling pressure.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With respect to the direction, SOL could most likely end in consolidation.
