In addition, the leading coin\u2019s supply on exchanges dropped to a 4-year low of 8.48% on the same day.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udc4c <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> saw a massive surge of coins moving off of exchanges yesterday, its largest daily amount (40,572 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a>) in 4 months. The supply of coins on exchanges is down to 8.48%. As exchange supply decreases, it de-risks chances of a future sell-off. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gi4ki39Z6T\">https:\/\/t.co\/gi4ki39Z6T<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OKtdS6RUJY\">pic.twitter.com\/OKtdS6RUJY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Santiment (@santimentfeed) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/santimentfeed\/status\/1582753894521720832?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Typically, a decline in an asset\u2019s supply on exchanges indicates a drop in selling pressure. Also confirmed by Santiment, \u201cas exchange supply decreases, it de-risks chances of a future sell-off.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What do other metrics tell us about the possible price direction of the leading asset in the short term?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Know this and know peace<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More often than not, the intensity of whale holdings determines the direction an asset\u2019s price would go. As regards BTC, holders of various amounts of the coin have ramped up holdings in the past few months, data from Santiment showed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since April, the number of whales holding 10 to 100 BTC has increased by 3%. A look at the asset\u2019s Mean Coin Age metric revealed that older coins have failed to change hands in a while. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a 180-day moving average, BTC\u2019s Mean Coin Age was in an uptrend at 78.422. To see any major growth in price, this metric has to take on a downtrend, as this would mean increased movement of BTC between addresses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This position was confirmed by a 180-day moving average assessment of BTC\u2019s Mean Dollar Invested Age (MDIA).
