In the past few weeks, BTC\u2019s price oscillated strangely between the $19,000 price region and the psychological $20,000 price region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Noticeably, the king coin has been increasingly less volatile in the past few weeks. Glassnode, in a recently published <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/insights.glassnode.com\/the-week-onchain-week-41-2022\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, compared BTC\u2019s performance with that of the broader financial markets. It found that,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cRecent weeks have seen an uncharacteristically low degree of volatility in Bitcoin prices, in stark contrast to equity, credit, and forex markets, where central bank rate hikes, inflation, and a strong US dollar continue to wreak havoc.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Santiment, this decline in volatility could be attributed to \u201cthe lack of whale presence\u201d in the BTC market. The count of BTC whale transactions that exceed $100,000 and $1 million also declined nearly to a two-year low, data from Santiment revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udc33\ud83e\udd37 As <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a>&#39;s price action has become relatively &quot;boring&quot; the past four months, we see that the lack of whale presence has had a lot to do with this lower volatility. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BTC<\/a> transactions valued at $100k+ and $1m+ have fallen to levels last seen in 2020. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/92ksM3jp7b\">https:\/\/t.co\/92ksM3jp7b<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zjpyhoUi71\">pic.twitter.com\/zjpyhoUi71<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Santiment (@santimentfeed) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/santimentfeed\/status\/1579871638647996422?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 11, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Are we near the bottom?<\/h3>\n<p>A persistent fall in BTC\u2019s volatility has been partly induced by the lack of whale presence in the BTC market. This aimed to signify attempts by investors to establish a bear market floor. A look at the asset\u2019s supply on exchanges supported this position.<\/p>\n<p>According to data from Santiment, BTC\u2019s supply on exchanges dropped by 13% in the past four months. The percentage of the coin\u2019s total supply on exchanges fell from 10.10% to 8.72% between June and October.<\/p>\n<p>The decline in BTC\u2019s supply on exchanges was an indication that buying pressure for the asset rallied in the period under consideration.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While this ordinarily should aid a price uptick, the downtrodden nature of the broader financial markets made it impossible for the price of BTC to rise significantly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_263542\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-263542\" style=\"width: 2560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-263542 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"867\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022.png 2560w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022-300x102.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022-1024x347.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022-768x260.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022-1536x520.png 1536w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Bitcoin-BTC-07.04.35-12-Oct-2022-2048x693.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-263542\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Santiment<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the fall in BTC\u2019s supply on exchanges might have indicated a rally in buying pressure in the past four months, a look at the asset\u2019s Mean Dollar Invested Age (MDIA) revealed that the BTC network was plagued by an increasing repository of dormant coins. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data from Santiment also showed that BTC\u2019s MDIA has been on a long stretch upward in the past four months showing stagnancy on the network. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, for the king coin to see any significant price action, a fall in MDIA is required.
