Its mainnet was responsible for processing over 1,000 transactions per second (tps). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only the likes of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Solana [SOL]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ripple [XRP]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CELO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> had swift networks that matched up. Rotem Hemo, a member of Algorand\u2019s founding team, mentioned it in his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/algorand\/interoperability-speed-and-on-chain-randomness-fb8ec9a53cde\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medium<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> post. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to him, the mainnet upgrade also included a State-of -Proof integration. With the State-of-Proof, the network\u2019s users can make trustless cross-chain communication without involving a third party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the technology is relatively new, it seems like the solution to curbing the interference of centralized validators. Further to its complete decentralization goals, Hemo also mentioned an update related to Decentralized Application (DApp)\u00a0 developers as the upgrade came with an AM7 on-chain addition to ease developer access. Hemo said,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAVM 7 provides the ability to create randomness oracles that will enable every smart contract to get fresh randomness from a secure source when needed.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><strong>Riding the wave<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the public revelation, the ALGO price seemed to have made some positive moves. As per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/algorand\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the coin was trading at $0.295 at press time, picking a 2.73% increase in the last 24 hours. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, its volume was on the downside as it decreased 9.04% to $78.30 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Considering the on-chain activity, ALGO\u2019s development activity was surprisingly on a downtrend trend. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Normally, such a significant upgrade was supposed to reflect around the metric but it was not the case according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/app.santiment.net\/charts\/osRc8T4j__sCl\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Santiment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
