But if you had told the administrators that ENS registrations would take less than four months to hit double of that number, they probably would have taken it as a joke.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interestingly, the unexpected happened. ENS domain registration hit two million only three and a half months after reaching one million. The official Twitter page of the web3 service announced this on 17 August.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">2m ENS names created!! \ud83c\udf89<\/p>\n<p>it took 5 years to get to 1m names<br \/>then 3.5 months to get to 2m names<\/p>\n<p>and we&#39;re just getting started \ud83d\ude80 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BFPUmjqzhB\">pic.twitter.com\/BFPUmjqzhB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ens.eth (@ensdomains) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ensdomains\/status\/1559811577917755394?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 17, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Merge and milestones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this development, it may seem that the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/category\/ethereum-news\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum [ETH]<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Merge anticipation has created an opportunity for all Ethereum-linked projects to reach new landmarks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, ETH was able to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/ethereum-eth-tosses-bitcoin-btc-to-take-top-spot-in-this-area\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">surpass<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin [BTC]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in options trading interest. So what are the numbers?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/makoto\/ens\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dune Analytics<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> there has been a total of 2,010,316 ENS domains created at press time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After doing <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/did-ens-domain-name-in-july-saw-impeccable-numbers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">incredible<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> numbers in July, the number of unique participating addresses increased to\u00a0 572,078 with 375,176 primary names in existence. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, the blockchain analytics platform reported that there has been a steady increase in registrations for the month of August. The same way arts can be sold in the same way these domains can be traded. So has the ENS surge had any impact on ETH NFTs?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CryptoSlam data <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslam.io\/ethereum\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">showed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that there was an 8.14% increase in the 24-hour sales volume. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, blue-chip collections did not record so many giant strides within the said period. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only notable change was <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crypto Punks<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which did a 222% uptick to reach $1.37 million at the time of this writing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bored Ape Yacht Club [BAYC]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was back on top of the rankings, it recorded a 15.64% decline.
