On the previous day (10 August), the XMR price was $159 as per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/monero\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinMarketCap<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At press time, it was trading at $168.16, drawing attention and possibly on its way to another solid <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/all-about-moneros-xmr-under-the-radar-july-performance-and-whats-next\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">performance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like it did in July.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before now, Monero had been involved in several proposals\u2014making moves to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/moneros-minexmr-fuels-new-debate-with-its-latest-transition-proposal\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">transition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from one network to another. Additionally, the private cryptocurrency made its network upgrade a priority. On 20 April, Monero <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getmonero.org\/2022\/04\/20\/network-upgrade-july-2022.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that it was due for a hard fork despite some delays. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3>No splits, only support<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After finally deciding on 13 August for the hard fork to take place, Monero received an excellent development concerning it. Binance, the world\u2019s largest crypto exchange, declared that it would support Monero\u2019s cause.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Binance?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Binance<\/a> will support the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/monero?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Monero<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24XMR&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$XMR<\/a> network upgrade &amp; hard fork.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0s0j47ZLQd\">https:\/\/t.co\/0s0j47ZLQd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Binance (@binance) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/binance\/status\/1557580621312040960?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 11, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/support\/announcement\/485c2c5a5f044875a7423f0af5c7e5ba\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> released on the exchange blog, Binance said its users should expect a hold on XMR deposits and withdrawals during the process. It assured traders and XMR HODLers of maximum security of assets and a resumption once the upgrade was complete.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the hard fork was not aimed at creating a split or a new cryptocurrency out of XMR. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Monero team cleared the air that its objective was v0.18 Fluorine Fermi software via block 2,688,888. At press time, it seemed like Monero was actively preparing for the event as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/localmonero.co\/blocks\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hashrate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (computational power to mine XMR) was at 2702.4 Mh\/s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So should XMR investors expect any impact on the coin&#8217;s price during or after the upgrade?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Indecisive<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on the XMR\/USDT chart, one can figure out that the coin struggled to follow a clear-cut direction. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Directional Movement Index (DMI) revealed this position. This is because both the On-Balance-Volume (OBV) and Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) showed positive signs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CMF revealed that the money flow favored the buyers as it remained above zero, indicating a bullish volume momentum. Similarly, the OBV suggested that the buying pressure increased with an increasing volume and price.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So XMR&#8217;s chances of going the green way during the upgrade may be stronger than its chances of a price decrease. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Investors should, however, observe if there are any contrary updates as it could affect the potential price movement.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monero [XMR] performed impressively over the last 24 hours with a 6.28% uptick.
