The month has seen its ups and downs across the crypto industry, but coins and assets react differently to the same factors. Now, it&#8217;s time to assess which marketplace is the winner.<\/p>\n<h3>OpenSea to summer school?<\/h3>\n<p>At press time, OpenSea&#8217;s monthly volume for March was $2,424,901,598.58906 [Ethereum]. Possible reasons for this could range from the rise of NFT capabilities on blockchains to the Russia-Ukraine war.<\/p>\n<p>Will next month see a continuation of this decline, or a positive reversal as ApeCoin grows more popular?<\/p>\n<h3>Looks like a stalemate<\/h3>\n<p>While LooksRare&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/dune.xyz\/hildobby\/LooksRare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">total volume<\/a> at press time was $21,524,853,068, OpenSea&#8217;s total volume since the release of the rival NFT marketplace was $12,234,570,421.<\/p>\n<p>While this might seem like enough evidence to crown LooksRare the new trending winner, it&#8217;s important to note that the <a href=\"https:\/\/dune.xyz\/hildobby\/LooksRare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">number of total users<\/a> on OpenSea since LooksRare&#8217;s release was <a href=\"https:\/\/dune.xyz\/hildobby\/LooksRare-VS-OpenSea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than 10x<\/a>\u00a0that of LooksRare. What&#8217;s more, LooksRare&#8217;s tendency to enable <a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/research-report-confirms-reason-as-to-how-how-looksrare-has-been-beating-opensea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">large volumes of wash trading<\/a> doesn&#8217;t help it in this regard either.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, daily volumes for both NFT marketplaces have slipped considerably. For starters, a look at the NFT stats on CryptoSlam revealed that the top-ranked collection by 24-hour sales volume was <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslam.io\/kiwami\"><span class=\"summary-sales-table__column-product-name\">Kiwami<\/span><\/a>\u00a0at <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslam.io\/kiwami\/sales\/summary\">$11,500,154<\/a>, which rallied by 512.20% in the last day.
