However, it added,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8221; As our year-to-date results have clearly demonstrated, our business is volatile.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>After a stellar performance in Q2, Coinbase had announced crypto-exchange business in Japan, locked horns with the SEC, and listed meme coin SHIB, among other material headlines.<\/p>\n<p>In its overview of the quarterly metrics, Q3 fell short on key parameters like net revenue and trading volume. Even when the net revenue managed to remain above the $1 billion mark for the third consecutive quarter. But, it stated that the &#8220;decline was roughly in-line with the overall crypto spot market volume decline.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the institutional trading volume of $234 billion also saw a 26% drop QoQ. Even so, the listed company noted that its subscription and services revenue grew by 41% sequentially to $145 million in Q3.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Coinbase CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brian_armstrong?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@brian_armstrong<\/a> says on Q3 call that he met with SEC chairman Gary Gensler last week .. called it &quot;very productive.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Kate Rooney (@Kr00ney) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Kr00ney\/status\/1458206295656259592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 9, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h4>Where is Coinbase heading?<\/h4>\n<p>Coinbase might be looking to support ETFs on its platform, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1458210552308715529?s=20\">report<\/a> by Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas. It could become a significant part of the company business, considering Allied Market Research is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.einnews.com\/pr_news\/555976136\/global-crypto-asset-management-market-to-generate-9-36-billion-by-2030-allied-market-research\">projecting<\/a> that the global crypto-asset management market will hit $9.36 billion by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>While these might be opportunities for Coinbase, it&#8217;s worth noting that it is expecting a better Q4 2021.
