The aforementioned vote took place after a phase two <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.singularitynet.io\/singularitynet-phase-two-massive-token-utilization-toward-decentralized-beneficial-agi-6e3ac5a5b44a\">proposal<\/a> was put forth to the AGI token holding community to determine a number of things, including,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">A shift from Ethereum to Cardano in order to achieve new network functionalities<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">SingularityNET Layer 2 networks with the aim of driving massive token utilization<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Launching a stream of New AGI-ADA tokens to drive trillions of AI API Calls<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Moving further toward decentralized governance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>According to Dr. Goertzel, the said proposal was passed successfully after it garnered over 90% (187,794,269 members) of the community <a href=\"https:\/\/community.singularitynet.io\/t\/the-singularitynet-phase-2-community-vote-results\/3366\">vote.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_141585\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-141585\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screenshot-2021-02-10-at-11.57.38-AM.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-141585 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screenshot-2021-02-10-at-11.57.38-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screenshot-2021-02-10-at-11.57.38-AM.png 660w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screenshot-2021-02-10-at-11.57.38-AM-300x155.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-141585\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: singularitynet.io<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>SingularityNET will now focus on expanding to the Cardano platform in full force and the release of the AGI &#8211; ADA tokens in line with the distribution model underlined by the Phase 2 whitepaper. Once the porting work is done, users will be able to swap back and forth between AGI ERC-20 and AGI-ADA. Since the two species of the token will be swappable one for one, they will also have the same value.<\/p>\n<p>Expanding on what the community vote on the proposal would entail, Goertzel went on to say that the shift from Ethereum to Cardano wouldn\u2019t mean that AGI ERC-20 tokens are being replaced. Instead, a new AGI-ADA token would be created on the Cardano platform to &#8220;go along with it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, he did note that in the near term, most of SingularityNET\u2019s efforts would go into the Cardano version.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It\u2019s just a technically superior blockchain platform. We really felt this was the best way to work toward our mission of beneficial decentralized general intelligence.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>SingularityNET first <a href=\"https:\/\/eng.ambcrypto.com\/singularitynet-cites-ethereums-lack-of-clarity-to-plan-port-to-cardano\/\">revealed<\/a> its intentions to move to Cardano in October 2020, citing speed and cost issues with the Ethereum blockchain as a motivating factor.
