Over the past week, however, ADA&#8217;s price movement has been very inconsistent, with a sharp hike following an even sharper fall on the charts. While the cryptocurrency did hit a local top around the 17th, the crypto fell by almost 20% soon after.<\/p>\n<p>At press time, Cardano had recovered by over 15%, with ADA holding steady around the $0.34-mark.<\/p>\n<p>ADA&#8217;s technical indicators, however, didn&#8217;t underline the recovery made. Not only were the\u00a0<strong>Parabolic SAR&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>dotted markers well above the price candles to suggest bearishness, but the MACD line was also\u00a0under the Signal line.<\/p>\n<p>The cryptocurrency made news yesterday after IOHK&#8217;s Charles Hoskinson <a href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/cardano-hoskinson-fortune500-ada-defi-cryptocurrency-blockchain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> that Cardano will be &#8220;aggressively pursuing&#8221; Fortune 500 companies who wish to expand into Africa&#8217;s emerging economies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cosmos [ATOM]<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_138578\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-138578\" style=\"width: 1805px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-138578 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1805\" height=\"785\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA.png 1805w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA-300x130.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA-1024x445.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA-768x334.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ATOM-PA-1536x668.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1805px) 100vw, 1805px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-138578\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/ATOMUSD\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATOM\/USD<\/a> on TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Like Cardano, ATOM too enjoyed a good start to the year 2021, with the cryptocurrency hiking exponentially on the price charts. Like Cardano, ATOM too fell on the charts around a week back. However, while ADA was quick to recover and recuperate almost all of its losses, ATOM was slow to do so, with the crypto hiking by only 15% after corrections, all in a matter of one week.<\/p>\n<p>It can also be suggested that ATOM&#8217;s falling trade volumes contributed to the crypto failing to recover all of its losses.<\/p>\n<p>ATOM&#8217;s technical indicators shared cause for optimism, however, as while the mouth of the\u00a0<strong>Bollinger Bands\u00a0<\/strong>remained wide and pointed to near-term volatility, the\u00a0<strong>Relative Strength Index\u00a0<\/strong>was mediating between the overbought and oversold zones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yearn.finance [YFI]<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_138579\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-138579\" style=\"width: 1805px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-138579 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1805\" height=\"785\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA.png 1805w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA-300x130.png 300w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA-1024x445.png 1024w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA-768x334.png 768w, https:\/\/ambcrypto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/YFI-PA-1536x668.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1805px) 100vw, 1805px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-138579\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/YFIUSD\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YFI\/USD<\/a> on TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>YFI, one of the market&#8217;s top DeFi tokens, was valued at $27,797 with a market cap of $892 million, at press time. Like Cosmos, while YFI did recover some of its losses following its depreciation earlier in the week, it wasn&#8217;t enough, with YFI climbing by just 16% on the back of a 24% fall.<\/p>\n<p>The ambivalence in YFI&#8217;s market was highlighted by its technical indicators as while the\u00a0<strong>Awesome Oscillator\u00a0<\/strong>pictured the fall of bearish momentum on the price charts, the\u00a0<strong>Chaikin Money Flow <\/strong>was holding steady just under zero.<\/p>\n<p>Yearn.Finance&#8217;s YFI was in the news recently after a <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.yearn.finance\/t\/proposal-developer-incentives\/8920\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposal<\/a> to incentivize and reward developers by minting additional YFI tokens gave way to a host of different reactions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many of the market&#8217;s altcoins gained significantly on the price charts around the 17th and 18th of January.
