The crypto company expected the draft of the \u201cForm S-1\u201d to become effective after the SEC completed its review process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this year, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-coinbase-ipo-exclusive\/exclusive-cryptocurrency-exchange-coinbase-readies-stock-market-listing-sources-idUSKBN24A21W\">stated<\/a> that Coinbase had initiated plans for a stock market listing and that the firm could go public with its own IPO. However, for this to occur, the listing would need SEC approval. Coinbase could pursue the listing early next year, if not in 2020, Reuters said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional details are yet to be known but t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he report further stated that Coinbase co-founder, Fred Ehrsam, previously worked at Goldman Sachs, between 2010 and 2012. This was before he founded the exchange with CEO Brian Armstrong. Ehrsam left Coinbase in 2017 and now remains as its board member.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the crypto sector is not entirely new for the investment banking firm. T<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o date, Goldman has invested in Circle and Bitgo among other crypto companies. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coinbase is a prominent exchange in the US with $1 billion daily volume in Dec-20, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/asiahodl\/status\/1339780409542942720?s=20\">according <\/a>to crypto analytics firm Messari.
